AmericanTheater Web Community
Were pleased that youre taking advantage of ATWs newest feature!
Before you begin, let us tell you that this is in BETA mode and will be evolving over the
next few weeks.
In a second, you will click the link below to begin the registration process. Before
you begin, we want to give you a few pointers:
- When you choose your user name, make sure that you choose the name that you want people
to type when they go to your site. For instance, you instinct might be to take
"sam" as a user name. Its a good name, but it means that people will type
in http://www.theatersites.com/sam when they go to your site. If your theater is "Century Theater Works" a user
name of "ctw" or "centurytheaterworks" will produce Web addresses that
people can remember.
- When you do register, youre going to be asked to provide a description of the site
as well as some contact information. PLEASE REMEMBER: We keep all of this
information strictly confidential. Your name isnt going to be sold or used in any
manner.
- After you register, you will be sent an email with a validation number. Print this
out! It has the template that weve installed to help people create a basic web
site. If you would like to see how the default setting looks click to: http://www.theatersites.com/ap212/.
For many theaters, this will be a perfect way to begin establishing a presence on the web.
- Copy the entire section that begins with "html" by highlighting it in your email.
- To edit your pages, sign in using your user name, password and validation code. If you
want to use the template that weve provided as the default, click the circle next to
index.html and click on edit. A window will pop up and you can begin replacing the
necessary sections. Paste the section from your email into this box. Now, begin to edit your text. When youve replaced everything that you need to, click finish.
Your site is up and running!
- For some additional information on the codes and such that you can user, please refer to
our tips section.
- For more advanced users, you will see that our WebHome script has many advanced
features. We believe that the interface makes them rather easy to use. Based on your
questions, we will be creating a FAQ sheet.
- By using AmericanTheater's WebHome, you are agreeing to our Terms of Service.
Please read carefully about what is appropriate usage of this service.
When you receive your validation number, return to the Community Page to log into the site manager tool.
