In Two Revivals, Some Stars Are Brighter Than Others
It requires no leap of imagination to envision ferocious Jeremy Piven of "Entourage" fame in a play by David Mamet -- especially one drenched in filthy Tinseltown lucre. And yet, amid the toxic delights of the Broadway revival of "Speed-the-Plow," Piven is not merely summoning his inner ...

Dziemianowicz: The curiosity about the Broadway revival of "All My Sons" has been boosted by Katie Holmes (who holds her own), but it's John Lithgow and Dianne Wiest who command your attention in this striking new production.

Review: 'All My Sons,' with Katie Holmes
There is a dizzying hallucinatory swirl to "All My Sons," the wrenching revival of Arthur Miller's 1947 drama that opened last night at the Schoenfeld Theatre. If that description seems out-of-sync with a playwright who held the stage with the certainty of tires on cement, well, imagine the torque of the ride.

The electrifying revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons," which opened last night at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, is the play to see on Broadway this season. It is an amazing piece of theater that will leave no one who sees it unchanged.

Four estimable actors headline the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's ``All My Sons'': John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, Patrick Wilson and, in her stage debut, Katie Holmes, better known as Mrs. Tom Cruise. They all do well. If only that were enough.

Pairing Arthur Miller's probing social realism with Brit director Simon McBurney's multidisciplinary experimental approach was a gamble, but the payoff in "All My Sons" is considerable.

Review: All My Sons
An out-of-his-element director can kill a great play, but he really has to work at it. For his staging of Arthur Miller's searing post-wartime drama All My Sons at the Schoenfeld, Simon McBurney has relied almost exclusively on devices existing beyond the world of the text - and, in many cases, the theatre itself - but is unable to quench the blazes Miller's breakthrough work generates yet today. In fact, all McBurney proves with his needlessly busy yet blaringly comatose interpretation is that stoking or extinguishing the fires of anguish requires more than just a bulging bag of tricks. . .
