Inside the Big, Bad City, Temptations by the Score
“Music in the Air” is one of those gently witty parodies of a quaint art form that wind up seeming quainter than the real thing.

"Music in the Air" is a fun listen
A few beautiful ballads, exquisitely sung, and two glittery star turns, don’t exactly add up to a top-tier musical. But they go a long way toward making “Music in the Air” an entertaining relic.

Unfunny comedy of airs
There's plenty of "Music in the Air" at the Encores! production of Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II's 1932 musical - but not a whole lot of fun. Review: Music in the Air
When people think of operetta, Music in the Air is the kind of show that fills their imaginations. Not coincidentally, it’s because of shows like Music in the Air that no one thinks about operetta much anymore. The new City Center Encores! production of Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II’s 1932 velvet-voiced romp from the German countryside to the big city which is playing through Sunday, is less a rediscovery of a long-lost treasure than a robust reminder of why it disappeared in the first place. .
