ACLU sues O.C. school district for ‘homophobic environment’
An ACLU lawsuit that alleges an officially sanctioned “sexist and homophobic environment” on the campus of Corona del Mar High School was prompted by an investigation that revealed previously unreported anti-gay incidents at the school, according to the Corona del Mar High’s drama teacher, Ron Martin. .... Martin was involved in a recent dispute over a production of “Rent” that he had proposed, partly as a way to address what he thought were inappropriate attitudes about homosexuality on his campus. He contends the school’s principal, Fal Asrani, prohibited him from staging the musical, which has several gay characters. She denied the charge and approved the musical after seeing the script.

How to Write a Manifesto about the State of the American Theatre on your own Blog!
I have been, my friends, remiss in my duties. We all know that bloggery is intended for more than links and open ended questions about complicated politics and economics of which I know nothing. Nay! Instead, the blogospace is for the ranting of experts (people with computers) about how to fix the whole shebang. To reinvent the invented in a way that appears freshly fresh.

Capacities for imaginative learning
I'm a fan of core principles, or at least statements of core principles, because they offer such a productive launch point for a focused conversation. If you tell me what you believe to be at the center of things, we can explore together where we disagree on the basis of our thinking, rather than the tactics and strategies we use.
