Since childhood, theatrical productions are a kind of magic for us. The first bell… The second bell… The third bell… The lights go out, everyone is frozen waiting for the performance… However, behind every such miracle is a team of professionals. These people spend months (and sometimes years) working on making the spectators a real holiday. At the head of this team is a producer, it is from his work and it ultimately depends on the final result.

The author’s course “Producing and Management in Theatre” is based on a PhD thesis on modern theater, an analysis of modern legislation and the lecturer’s practical experience.

The aim of the course is the step-by-step development of individual production projects, which we will discuss at the final “question-and-answer” session. The results will serve as a good basis for writing applications for various grants and project competitions.

As you know, there is no practice without theory. The course “Producing and Management in Theater” strikes a balance between theoretical and practical material, covering the main components of a theatrical manager’s activity.

You will learn:

  • How to stage your own performance?
  • How to find a venue for it and organize the work of the team?
  • How to draw up a budget and, most importantly, where do you get it from?
  • How to tell the audience about a production and make sure tickets don’t linger at the box office?

Who is the course for?
This course will be useful for beginning theater producers.
